Wilderness Safaris
Brace yourself for an unrivalled journey with the world’s leading conservation and hospitality enterprise.
Wilderness Safaris provides highly memorable, authentic African experiences that are enjoyable and educational, while placing a firm emphasis on environmental
conservation. Currently operating more than 60 lodges across Botswana, Namibia,
Malawi, South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe and the Seychelles, it is the premier safari tour company in southern Africa and the winner of many international awards.
The various Wilderness Safaris properties don’t have one particular style, preferring to instead celebrate the individuality of each region and its wildlife. As a result, each camp has its own distinct character. The gastronomy also varies according to location, favoring seasonal ingredients and wholesome meals over
haute cuisine. There’s a strong social element to mealtimes as well, with guests discussing the day’s events with their guides.
The company also delights in its “interpretive experience” approach to the wilderness areas and national parks: Not only do expert guides lead game drives in prime viewing areas, but they also interpret every aspect of the nature you encounter –from the fascinating teamwork of the termite mounds to the social behaviour of the lion prides.

Thoughts from Wilderness Safaris' CEO
I first met Mary Jean Tully at a Virtuoso Symposium in Barcelona, where she was, quite clearly, a dominant force
in luxury cruise industry. It was there that we convinced
her that her guests would be a perfect match for our safari offerings in Southern Africa. From her first moments at Vumbura Camp in Botswana, followed by a visit to Mombo Camp in the Okavango Delta, Mary Jean and her husband Brad fell in love with Africa. During the past 10 years, they have visited Africa at least twice a year, not just as visitors, but also as contributors to a variety of wildlife reintroduction programs and child-welfare projects.
Over the years, Mary Jean and her staff have built a knowledgeable base of the leading luxury destinations throughout Africa, and we recommend them without hesitation. Mary Jean’s attention to detail and personal experience of the product is rivalled only by her enthusiasm and her love of Africa.

"I love Mombo so much that we donated a bridge to the region, and when I die, I want my ashes spread there."
I have stayed in most of the Wilderness properties and one of my personal favorites is Mombo in Botswana. It is aptly named the Place of Plenty, and that’s for good reason. I love it so much that we donated a bridge to the region, and when I die, I want my ashes spread there. But it’s not just Mombo. Wilderness provides so many choices and so many unique experiences throughout Africa. A safari can appeal to anyone’s tastes and there is an experience just waiting for you at any of them. Wilderness offers such a wide variety of game-viewing and accommodation, we can easily find the lodge that’s right for you.
