Pre- and Post- Antarctic Tours
Looking to stay in South America a little longer? We can make that happen for you. Before or after exploring the glacial landscapes of Antarctica, Atlas has two particular optional tours that engage all five senses.
• The two-night Highlights of Buenos Aires itinerary showcases the city’s vibrant cultural gems, with stops at historical sites like Casa Rosada and Plaza de Mayo – the city’s oldest public square – as well as Recoleta Cemetery, with its labyrinthine passages through 6,500 graves. Count on taking in a tango show and savoring authentic Argentinian cuisine.
• The three-night Exploring Iguazú Falls tour whisks you through Buenos Aires for a bit, then spends two separate days at the falls, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Take in the 275 waterfalls and islands the first day, with a Zodiac boat tour getting you close enough to feel the rush. A second day focuses on the Devil’s Throat with its 14 horseshoe shaped falls.
Heading to New Horizons
Throughout an Atlas Ocean Voyages polar expedition, many days of exploration entail Captain's Choice, in which the yacht's Captain and expedition team work together on Zodiac safaris and shore landings to communicate wildlife sightings and bring explorers as close as safely possible to extraordinary views.
